Alright, you guys. Prepare yourselves for photo overload. Kara Donovan did such an amazing job with this shoot, I had a really hard time narrowing them down like I usually do. Like I said in my previous Del Mar shoot post, I was woefully unprepared on my way to California and she and Annie at Ivory & Grace really pulled everything together! In this post I want to give you guys some details on where we stayed, what we ate and did in San Diego during the three days I was there.

Caleb was already in San Diego for a friend's bachelor party, so when I joined him on Sunday he picked me up and we headed into San Diego to get lunch. Right when I spotted Cafe Gratitude on a street corner, I knew we had to go. I have heard so much about the plant-based menu and I was so excited to try it! It definitely lived up to the hype with a huge vegan menu, and our waitress even made us order by saying "affirmations" which made Caleb and I laugh so hard. Truly a feel-good California place, I could not have loved it more.

Pretty much EVERY morning Caleb and I would wake up and walk along the water to Better Buzz Coffee to get our daily acai bowls and iced coffees. Then, we would sit and eat them on the beach. This may have been one of my favorite parts of the entire trip! Because we had no plans or itinerary, it allowed us to slow down and enjoy our surroundings and each other. I highly recommend taking at least one trip like this in your lifetime - no plans, just an open mind and curious spirit! We actually stayed in Mission Beach because it was close to our friends who lived there. We used Airbnb to find a little apartment that was wedged between the bay and the ocean. If you zoom in on a map of Mission Beach, we were staying right on that little slice of land surrounded by water on each side!

Now, for the shopping. I'm quite a bit biased because Cedros Soles worked with us for the shoot, but we actually only reached out to one boutique because Annie and I LOVED the brands they carried! It is a huge selection, and right now they have so many neutral fall sweaters and unique denim I was dying over. We had so much fun picking out the outfits for the shoot in Del Mar. If you go visit Solana Beach, definitely shop at Cedros Soles and then get a tea at Lofty Coffee across the street! I know it's weird to get tea at a coffee place but we went there in the evening and I didn't want caffeine, and they had a selection of hot teas that were all amazing.

My absolute FAVORITE lunch we had was with friends at The Taco Stand in La Jolla. When Caleb and I walked in, we were skeptical about how casual everything looked. But I think I ate the best fish taco of my life there, not kidding. If you are ever in San Diego, La Jolla, Encinitas...they have lots of locations, my point is that you must go! One thing I wish we did was rent bikes and spend a few hours biking the Mission Beach boardwalk. Mission Beach Surf Rentals offers bikes and surfboards, and when we go back I want to grab some bikes and go!

Okay beautiful people, I'm going to wrap up my (officially longest!) blog post to go grab coffee and get to work. I'll be day dreaming about San Diego for a few more weeks at least! Let me know your favorite winter getaways or if you have any plans to travel somewhere warm this Christmas!
